Event Details

The World Tubing Championships is a fundraiser for the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital Foundation with donations being directed towards expanding the Great Expansion of our award-winning Hospital and the purchase of a CT Scanner.

How to be involved

  1. Participate: Gather a team of 4 friends or family members, as well as a General Manager, just because!, and prepare to hedge your bet on world tubing glory.

The goal: raise $1,000 per team and in return: receive World Tubing Championship SWAG; a chance at the podium and a locally designed metal, as well as the opportunity to showcase team spirit in an official opening games ceremony. All this to show off your tubing skills to the finish line in the Kettle Creek Valley.

One run on Saturday, and two additional timed runs on Sunday per team plus complimentary food and VIP treatment throughout the event.

Plus, contests for best team spirit and costume! Spend the weekend outdoors having fun and raising funds for a great cause!

  1. Volunteer: Not willing to slide down a hill on a large inner tube but want to partake? Volunteers will be treated to special SWAG items and are needed to help with parking, way-finding, security, site activation, score keeping, fun making and more. Come help put on a first-of-its kind event and be part of the magic. To fill out our volunteer form click here.
  1. Be a Spectator: Have Fun with Us: Everyone knows that it’s the spectators that make world-class sporting events exhilarating! We want to make this a fun community-minded event with something for everyone. We will have accessible buses leaving from the Elgin Mall every 30 minutes to the site on Saturday and Sunday. Click here for more details about the activities going on this weekend!

Onsite there will be food vendors featuring local eats and treats, a warming tent, beer garden, a s’mores fire roasting station, as well as a Kids’ Tent. Put on the snow pants, bring out your lawn chairs and enjoy family friendly fun on Saturday and Sunday of the Family Day long weekend.
